Saratoga Springs History Museum’s 141st Annual Meeting: Honoring the Legacy of Miriam Leslie

The Saratoga Springs History Museum invites the community to its 141st Annual Meeting, held at the historic Canfield Casino. This special evening will not only offer insights into the museum’s current state but also feature exciting updates on our newest exhibits and future plans.

As a highlight of the event, there will be a captivating presentation on our latest exhibit:

"Frank Leslie Buys Women’s Votes"

Presented by Nancy Brown, Curator

This year’s feature presentation takes a deep dive into the extraordinary life of Miriam Leslie, a trailblazing figure in journalism and women’s suffrage. Often known professionally as Frank Leslie, she transformed the publishing world and made significant contributions to the women’s rights movement. Her generous $2 million donation to suffragist leader Carrie Chapman Catt was instrumental in securing the passage of the 19th Amendment.

Nancy Brown will share the inspiration behind the exhibit, exploring Miriam Leslie’s personal journey, her social transformations in Saratoga Springs, and her lasting legacy.
