Lecture and Book signing Secretariat’s Legacy with Patricia McQueen

  • 1 E. Congress Street Saratoga Springs, NY, 12866 United States (map)

There’s no question that Secretariat was one of the greatest racehorses of all time. Today, more than 50 years after he swept the Triple Crown, no horse has ever run the three races faster than he did. He won the Belmont Stakes by an incredible 31 lengths. When he went to study, there were unrealistic expectations that he would duplicate himself through his offspring. But that was impossible – he was a freak, so beyond the norm that balance in the universe inevitably had to be restored. Still, he came close with two outstanding champions, Lady’s Secret and Risen Star.

In Secretariat’s Legacy, you will learn the stories of Secretariat’s top offspring – from stakes winners like Lady’s Secret, Risen Star, General Assembly, Tinners Way, and Kingston Rule, to important daughters like Terlingua, Weekend Surprise, Secrettame and Six Crowns. It’s a one-of-a-kind look at Secretariat’s descendants and their impact on Thoroughbred racing and breeding.
