The Saratoga Limited: A Special Train for a Special Time

Presented by historian Richard Chait. The late 1800s was a special time in the history of Saratoga Springs, with attractions that brought the rich and the famous to our town. It was a perfect setting for a special train. This talk tells the story of that train — The Saratoga Limited. It details the Limited’s elegant coaches and parlor cars that were especially designed for the New York-to-Saratoga Springs service. Passengers not only traveled in style, but with the direct trip from New York taking less than 4 hours, they arrived refreshed and ready to enjoy everything that the Spa City had to offer.
